Fruits to improve your eyesight

Consuming fruits will not only make it much tastier but will help you to improve your vision . A research published in the Archives of Opthamology indicated that eating 3 or more servings of fruit per day may lower your risk of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), the primary cause of vision loss in older adults, by 36%. Some fruits which are good for eyesight are as mentioned below.

  • This fruit is also known as Barbados / West Indies cherries, are rich in Vitamin C, and beta-carotene.
  • Dried Apricots
  • These fruits are a good source of beta-carotene and vitamin A as the drying process concentrates the nutrients.Vitamin A reduces the degenerative effect of free radicals on the lens of the eye and thus lowers the risk of cataract or delays its progression.
  • Blueberries
  • Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins makes them one of the top fruits good for eyesight.It rank highest on per serving basis among the fruits.Antioxidants neutralizes the negative free radicals and lower the risk of age-related diseases,including age-related eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration.
  • Bilberries
  • Bilberries are rich in anthocyanins, that helps to cure night blindness, and have a positive effect on cataracts and macular degeneration.They are an effective natural alternative when it comes to treating problems with the retina caused by diabetes or high blood pressure.
  • Cantaloupe
  • Cantaloupe is a good source of beta-carotene and Vitamin C.
  • Guavas
