KIDNEY STONE


There are four types of kidney stones. The most common type of stone is the calcium oxalate stone. These stones can be prevented by daily consumption of mulberry juice. Uric acid stones are often found in people with gout, but they may also occur in those who are dehydrated or who eat a high-protein diet. Struvite stones are connected with urinary tract infections. Morin exhibits similar activity on urate transport in the human kidney.

A compound known as deoxynojirimycin in mulberry leaves prevents diabetes by inhibiting the breakdown of carbohydrates and suppressing blood sugar levels. The mulberry extract must be heat stable and potentially useful for developing mulberry-based food products that could be used in the management and prevention of diabetes.

OBESITY

hite mulberry regulates lipid metabolism, body weight gain, and adipose tissue by changing the expression of hepatic target genes in high-fat, diet-induced, obese mice. Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is involved in feeding and energy metabolism. White mulberry leaf extract exhibits an antagonistic effect to MCH1 receptor in diet-induced obese mice, resulting in decreased body weight and adiposity, food intake, and hepatic lipid accumulation.
