Fruit payasam-procedure to make in home

The following are the steps for how to make fruit payasam.

INGREDIENTS
  • Banana - 2 no
  • Carrot - 2 no
  • Mango - 2 no
  • Pineapple - 8-10 pieces
  • Jaggery - 4 kg
  • Sabudana - 2 bunch
  • Coconut milk - 2 cup
  • Elaichi powder - required amount
GARNISHING
PROCEDURE
  1. Cut all the fruits and vegetables into equal pieces.
  2. Blend all the fruits and vegetables like semi-piece for 1 minute in the mixer without adding water.
  3. Cook the sabudana and keep aside.
  4. Make a thick syrup using Jaggery pieces and keep aside too.
  5. Now heat the ghee and fry all long sliced coconut pieces, cashewnuts & raisins separately.
  6. Now add the blended fruits & vegetables and saute them for 10 minutes.
  7. Add the syrup on top now. Mix all till the ghee floats on the top.
  8. Add the 1 cup of thin coconut milk and mix well for 4 min till the payasam thickens.
  9. pour the thick coconut milk to it and mix it properly and remove it from the fire.
  10. dont make it boil after adding thick coconut milk.Then add elaichi powder, dry ginger powder to it.
  11. Atlast garnish with fried cashewnuts, raisins and coconut pieces.Then make it to cool

Fruits and vegetables are natural healthy and nutritious food for the kids. They posses vitamins minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, etc. These helps to grow the kids in a healthy manner.

  • Kiwi fruit is named for the national bird of New Zealand, the Kiwi bird, because of its brown fuzzy skin. These fruits are good for bones and relief from arthritis, etc.

  • Pineapples are berries, just like strawberries and blueberries that helps the kid to have good eye sight.

  • Pumpkins are derived from Greek word for large melon. Theses also contains enriched minerals.

  • Bilberries, cousins of the blueberry,helps to improve nighttime vision.

  • raspberries contain antioxidants that can reduce cancer.

  • Eating five servings of fruit and vegetables each day is a good way to stay healthy and strong.

  • It is possible to use fruit juice in your cake or cookie recipe in place of some of the fat. It will add to the fruit intake for the day in a sweet and tasty way.

  • Fruit can be added to a tossed salad to add a different flavor and a boost of extra vitamins and nutrients.
